Mr William Steel is the headteacher of Pentup Primary School in the New series. He does appear to be as involved in making decisions in the running of the school as the deputy head Ms Savage. He is the only member of the school staff who can control Savage although he cares more about litter than her tyranny or cruel and unusual punishments.
He also considers himself too busy to talk to his mother Lilly until she comes into the school in Model Pupil.
